Team Bios
Benvinda
Benvinda has been with McLay since 1997. Her position as a credit counsellor gives her a sense of satisfaction for helping those in financial need. Knowing clients leave in a peaceful frame of mind by starting over is something she is proud of. Outside the office Benvinda is busy with her daughter and keeping active.
Brian
Brian is the founder of the business, and it is his enthusiasm for helping people that has made us what we are today, a firm build on providing financial solutions that help people rid themselves of financial burdens and to ‘start again’. When not at the office Brian enjoys the simple pleasures of gardening, reading, and spending time with his wife and their two children.
Chris
Chris is a member of our administrative support team and enjoys being able to help relieve some of the stress from the client's financial situation. Outside of the office he enjoys staying in shape and keeping up with the sports world.
Christy
Christy started working at McLay in May 2001. She is a mom of two young children as well as being a full time administrative assistant. Since Christy began working for McLay she received her Insolvency Counsellors designation in May 2004. She feels it's rewarding to be a part of the rebuilding process and enjoys knowing she has been a part of improving someone’s future.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth (“Liz”) started in the insolvency field right out of school in 1995 and is a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy. She focused on corporate files until 2001 when she discovered the rewarding work of assisting individuals with their financial challenges. Liz has often described the best part of her job as the "thank you" she gets from people for helping them out of a jam. A “Newfie” at heart, Liz has called Southwestern Ontario home since 2006. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, cooking and curling.
Gary
Gary feels it's rewarding to teach individuals the tools needed to regain financial independence. Having been a part of the McLay team since 1993, Gary is actively involved in many areas of the insolvency process as an Estate Manager and Credit Counsellor. He is actively involved with his family, enjoys gardening and camping, and every fall hopes that his Denver Broncos can make it back to the Super Bowl.
Helen
When not rescuing abandoned dogs with her daughter and helping them find their perfect human match, Helen is busy meeting with people in financial despair. Helen says there is much personal fulfillment in getting people “from tears to smiles” once they realize that there is a solution to their financial stress. Helen has worked as an Estate Manager for McLay since 1998.
Lindsay
As a newer member of the McLay team, Lindsay is discovering the satisfaction you feel when helping people to decrease their stress load and start over. When she’s not busy at work learning everything involved as an Insolvency Administrator, she is busy at home learning the “joys” of home improvements and dreaming of her next trip.
Murray
When not trying to keep up with his 2 growing boys and sneaking in the odd game of golf, Murray takes great pleasure in helping people solve their difficult and unique financial problems, and strives to make every client’s experience positive. Murray has been with McLay since 2001, and as a partner in the business since 2005. He enioys helping people and small businesses out of tight financial spots since well before the turn of the century.
Pat
Pat has been assisting people with financial stress since 1987. From initial consultations to final reports, Pat is involved in many areas of the insolvency process. Pat’s knowledge, compassion, and experience make her a valued member of the McLay team. In her spare time, Pat enjoys spending time with her children’s families and is often heard at sporting events, cheering on the grandchildren!
Rhonda
As one of our resident number gurus, Rhonda has been responsible for banking and income tax since 2003. When not crunching numbers in the office, Rhonda keeps herself busy trying to keep up with her teenage daughter.
Richelle
Richelle has been employed at McLay’s since 1996 as an Administrative Specialist, and says she finds fulfillment in the gratitude people often express when they have been shown that they can start again. At home, Richelle is busy with 3 young children and all the joy and fun (and challenges) that being a mom brings!
Sandra
Sandra is a recent graduate from University of Western Ontario – King’s University College. She began part-time at McLay while at university and was hired fulltime shortly after graduation. When Sandra is not around her big family, she’s with friends, practicing her new hobby of playing the guitar or painting.
Sharon
When not relaxing, tending to her gardens and watching her grandchildren run around on her country property, Sharon is occupied with the completion of bankruptcy and proposal files. She has over 25 years of experience, starting from a file clerk and joining the ranks as an Insolvency Administrator and qualified counsellor. Sharon still enjoys giving people and their families another chance at financial freedom.
Vicki
Boasting of her exceptional skills at organizing the chaos of 3 young children, Vicki has been assigned the task of keeping the business organized. Joining our team in 2008, Vicki says it was clear to see that the most important piece of the company are the people we serve and finds it personally satisfying that each and every person who comes to us to “start again” is treated with dignity, compassion, respect and honesty.
Vicky
Vicky has been helping people solve their financial difficulties since 1995. She joined McLay & Company in 2000, and her primary focus is the administration of personal bankruptcies and proposals to creditors. Vicky is a Qualified Insolvency Counsellor and is currently working towards obtaining her license as a Trustee in bankruptcy. Out of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
